Ginger Johnson is heading to Norwich this September with her brand new live spectacular, Show Pony, bringing her trademark mix of outrageous comedy, sharp wit and larger-than-life drag to the Norwich Theatre Playhouse.
Best known for her appearances on MasterChef and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, Ginger Johnson has built a reputation as one of Britain’s most entertaining and distinctive drag queens. Following the success of her 2024 tour, Ginger Johnson Blows Off!, she is now back on the road with a brand new show promising high camp, low morals and plenty of ridiculousness along the way.
Show Pony comes to Norwich Theatre Playhouse on Saturday, 12 September 2026, with the performance beginning at 8pm. The show runs for approximately two hours, including an interval, offering audiences an entertaining night of comedy, drag and live performance.
Promising a barnstorming evening of whip-smart comedy and top-tier talent, Show Pony is designed to showcase Ginger at her most outrageous and untamed. While audiences may know her from television, the live stage is where her larger-than-life personality can really shine.
Ginger has become a familiar face to audiences across the UK. Her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK introduced her to a wider audience, while her television work has helped establish her as a versatile entertainer with a talent for comedy and performance.
Her previous live tour, Ginger Johnson Blows Off!, was a hit with audiences, setting the stage for her return with Show Pony. The new production promises to build on that success with more humour, more energy and the kind of unapologetic silliness that has become part of Ginger’s appeal.
For Norwich audiences, the show offers an opportunity to experience Ginger Johnson away from the television screen and in her element. Expect plenty of laughs, outrageous moments and a healthy dose of drag glamour, all delivered with Ginger’s unmistakable comic style.
The performance takes place at Norwich Theatre Playhouse, located on St George’s Street in the heart of Norwich. With its intimate atmosphere and established place within the city’s cultural scene, it provides a fitting setting for an evening of comedy and live entertainment.
Tickets start from around £30.74, with meet-and-greet options potentially available at an additional cost. The event is recommended for those aged 16 and over.
Whether you have followed Ginger since her Drag Race days, discovered her through television or are simply looking for something different to do in Norwich this September, Show Pony promises a night that does not take itself too seriously.
With high camp, low morals and double helpings of Ginger Johnson’s trademark ridiculousness, Show Pony is set to bring a lively dose of drag, comedy and entertainment to Norwich this autumn.
Saturday, 12 September could be the perfect opportunity to leave the ordinary behind and spend an evening with one of Britain’s most entertaining queens.
