Voluntary Norfolk, one of the county’s most respected community organisations, has announced the appointment of a new Chair of Trustees, Tessa Haskey, alongside a new Finance Lead, Mark Trenavin-Body, marking an exciting new chapter for the charity as it continues to champion volunteering and social action across the region.

The appointments come at a time of renewed focus on community resilience and inclusion. Both Haskey and Trenavin-Body bring extensive experience in leadership and finance, with a shared passion for empowering local communities and improving quality of life across Norfolk.
Chief Executive Michael Kitching welcomed the news, describing it as “a major step forward for the organisation’s future direction.” He praised the incoming trustees’ commitment to building on Voluntary Norfolk’s decades of success in connecting volunteers with causes that matter, from supporting vulnerable residents to strengthening the voluntary sector’s voice in local decision-making.

Founded in 1969, Voluntary Norfolk has become a cornerstone of civic life in the county, working with charities, community groups, and individuals to tackle issues ranging from health inequality to rural isolation. Over the years, its projects have evolved with the needs of the county, now encompassing digital inclusion, skills development, and partnership initiatives across health and social care.
The new appointments signal continuity with purpose, with fresh leadership ensuring that the organisation remains agile, inclusive, and impactful in the years ahead. For the thousands of people who give their time to volunteering across Norfolk, it is a strong message that their efforts are supported by experienced, forward-thinking leadership.
Voluntary Norfolk continues to demonstrate that when communities come together with compassion and purpose, meaningful change follows.
