3 reasons to get your next men’s haircut at Magik Clippers
It likely won’t surprise you that there is a rising trend between the success of social media (in particular TikTok) and the uptake of male grooming.
In fact, research by Custom Market Insights shows that the global male grooming products market was estimated at around $55 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach $110 billion by 2030.
To throw some more statistics in the mix, this data also correlates with the rise in barber shops hitting the UK highstreets in recent years. In 2019, there were 13,046 barbershops in the UK, an increase of 64% from 2014.
If you’ve wandered the streets of Norwich recently, these statistics will ring true, with there being plenty of barber shop options. In fact, Andrew Salih, owner of Magik Clippers, has counted 25 Kurdish Barbers in the city alone.
So, with so much choice in the city, how do you decide the best place to go? Here’s three reasons why you need to pay a visit to Magik Clippers next time you need a trim!
- A Wealth of Services

Kurdish barbers are renowned for their high level of service and complete hair care package.
Experienced in haircutting and barbering, the Magik Clippers team also offers hair dying, wet beard shaves, hot towel beard shaves, traditional beard shaves, waxing and ear flames.
“The most popular cut in the shop is still the skin fade, but we also do headshaves, tram lines, and regular cuts,” said Andrew. Not only that, Andrew is also trained in women’s cuts.
For a truly Kurdish experience, the hot towel shave will leave you feeling fresh and clean. The service begins with your face being wrapped in a hot towel to open pores, rid the skin of dirt and impurities, and prepare the skin for shaving. After the shave, which is performed with a straight razor for an extra-close shave, your face is refreshed with cold water and patted dry.
For those looking to remove unwanted nose and ear hair, Magik Clippers flame service comes highly recommended. Using a taper, a qualified member of the team will singe the hair away in a matter of seconds!
- The Perfect City-Centre Spot
Having moved the shop from Magdalen Street to Westlegate in 2018, Magik Clippers is perfectly situated for a city centre trim.
“With so much choice in the city, location is key,” said Andrew, “we’re walking distance from parking and bus stops, and there are plenty of places to pick up some food nearby, too”.
Andrew has fully renovated the shop in Westlegate, “I’m very proud of how it turned out,” he said.
Inside the shop, you’ll find luxury at every turn – from the leather sofa waiting area to the high-spec barber chairs and individual basins.
And for those of you not looking for barber shop chit-chat, although that is available in abundance, the shop is kitted out with entertainment, too.
- Andrew’s Unbeatable Experience

At 41, Andrew has been barbering for 29 years. Yes, your quick maths is correct – Andrew has been honing his skills since he was just 12 years old!
Moving to the UK in 1999, Andrew has barbered in salons across the country, including major cities such as London and Birmingham. Whilst in Norfolk, he completed his NVQ Level 2 at City College, Norwich.
“I’m passionate about barbering and customer service, but I’m able to take on more of a management role now,” shared Andrew, “it’s giving me an opportunity to nurture the team I have at Magik Clippers to ensure longevity of the shop and the Kurdish experience in Norwich”.
Magik Clippers prides itself on its friendly service and top quality haircuts, which sees its customers returning time and time again.
With two full time and two part time staff, booking is recommended but walk-ins are welcome.
