Mia Boorman, founder and owner of Derma Clinic Aesthetics is on a mission to shift the perception of the aesthetics industry.
One of East Anglia’s leading aesthetic clinics, Derma Clinic Aesthetics has seen significant growth since Mia launched the business five years ago. Now, the business has clinics in Norwich and Clare, as well as pop ups in Essex and London.
Ensuring Mia’s standard is met not only by her team, but across the industry, she also runs Derma Clinic Advanced Aesthetics Training School (DCAATS), the first Advanced Aesthetics Training School offering complete dermal filler, anti-wrinkle and advanced medical skincare and body training courses across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Having started her professional life as a Biology and PE teacher, Mia is well-equipped to educate.
“There’s a big difference between knowing and teaching,” she said, “My aim with DCAATS is to improve the quality of education in the aesthetics industry”.
From first-time students through to top surgeons, Mia has trained over 150 students from across the country (and Europe), with many getting in touch through word of mouth, a testament to Mia’s approach.
“Training is usually one-to-one or two-to-one at most, as every student’s requirements are individual. I’ll assess each person before they join me and can create bespoke training packages. It’s not about how many people I can get through the door, but offering the best experience which results in them leaving DCAATS confident in their ability,” explained Mia.
Mia and her team take the same personal approach with Derma Clinic Aesthetic’s clients, ensuring they leave after their treatment with confidence, inside and out.
“Aesthetics is so much more than skin deep for us, and that’s what’s at our core,” shared Mia.
Whilst Derma Clinic Aesthetics offers treatments you would expect from an aesthetician, such as anti-aging treatments and fillers, Mia is focussed on bridging the gap left behind by the underfunded NHS.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy has seen great success at Derma Clinic Aesthetics, particularly with people looking to encourage hair regrowth. Results can be seen after just one treatment.
“We’re seeing such a high success rate with our PRP therapy, both from those which have previously had hair transplants and those who haven’t. It’s becoming so popular at the clinic I’m going to be training someone purely to carry out the treatment which may mean expanding the Norwich clinic in the future,” shared Mia.

As well as PRP therapy, Derma Clinic Aesthetics offers B-12 and Vitamin C injections.
The clinic also offers treatments no longer accessible on the NHS such as verruca and skin tag removal, and it’s currently in the process of CQC approval for ear syringing.
“The work we do at Derma Clinic Aesthetics can be really transformational for our clients. Some treatments may help people to look better on the outside, but ultimately, they’re bringing confidence and wellbeing from within,” said Mia.
Mia trains each of her staff members to ensure clients receive the same standard of care every time they visit.
“Our business has expanded largely through referrals and repeat business, so it’s crucial that our customer service is exceptional. Our priority is to make clients feel safe and trust in us,” shared Mia, “we are completely client focussed”.
Through her work, Mia is keen to encourage more regulation in the aesthetics industry.
“With fillers only being licensed in the UK 19 years ago, the industry is still in its infancy. There is a lot of work to be done in terms of regulation, but it’s crucial for the safety of both businesses and their clients,” said Mia, “I ensure all DCAATS students are properly educated on the risks, which can then be passed on to their clients”.
From regenerative skin treatments to cellulite removal, hair removal to hair regrowth, Derma Clinic Aesthetic can recommend the right treatment for your needs.
