There is a new place to discover in the Norwich Lanes for anyone who enjoys Greek food, independent producers and ingredients that bring a taste of the Mediterranean into the kitchen.

Elixirion, a family run Greek delicatessen at 14 Bridewell Alley, opened its doors in August 2026. The small shop is the latest venture from Georgios Michailidis, his wife Vicky Stogianni and their son Michael, who are also part of the team behind Greek Actually on Unthank Road. With the family already established in Norwich’s food scene, Elixirion offers a natural extension of their passion for Greek food and the ingredients behind it.

Set along Bridewell Alley, which runs between Bedford Street and St Andrews Street, the deli is in the heart of the city’s historic Lanes. Its arrival adds another independent food business to an area known for its collection of small shops, cafés, restaurants and places to discover something a little different.
Rather than focusing on a large supermarket style selection, Elixirion is centred around premium Greek products sourced from small, independent producers and suppliers in Greece. The idea is to bring some of the ingredients and flavours that are central to Greek food directly to Norwich, giving shoppers the chance to discover products they may not usually find on the high street.
Among the products available are extra virgin olive oil, Greek cheeses, honey, coffee, nuts, yoghurt and traditional herbs. There is also a selection of Greek wines, giving visitors plenty of choice whether they are looking for ingredients for a meal at home or simply want to take a closer look at products from different parts of Greece.

For anyone who enjoys cooking, the deli provides an opportunity to pick up some of the staples associated with Greek cuisine. Good quality olive oil, herbs, cheese and honey can all make a difference to simple dishes, while the range of specialist products gives shoppers a chance to try something new.

Elixirion is not just about products to take home, either. The deli also offers Greek pies and coffee, adding a more immediate reason to stop by while exploring the Norwich Lanes. Whether it is a quick coffee during a day in the city or a Greek pie to enjoy while continuing a wander around the area, the shop brings a relaxed food element to its small setting.

The connection with Greek Actually is also an important part of Elixirion’s story. The Unthank Road restaurant has already introduced diners in Norwich to Greek cooking, while the new deli focuses more closely on the ingredients, products and producers behind the cuisine. Together, the two businesses offer different ways to experience Greek food in the city.
There is also something appealing about the scale of the deli. In an increasingly familiar high street landscape, small independent food shops can offer a more personal way of shopping, with products chosen around a particular cuisine and its traditions. Elixirion’s focus on independent Greek suppliers gives it a clear identity, while its family run background adds to that sense of connection.
Its location makes it easy to include in a visit to the Norwich Lanes, whether you are already exploring the independent businesses around Bridewell Alley or making a specific trip to pick up Greek ingredients. The shop joins a part of Norwich where food, shopping and local businesses sit alongside one another, making it a natural fit for the area.
With Elixirion now open since August 2026, Norwich has another destination for Greek food and ingredients. From olive oil and cheese to honey, coffee, wine and freshly served Greek pies, the deli offers a small but carefully focused selection with a clear link to its Greek roots.
For the Michailidis family, Stogianni and Michael, Elixirion is another chapter in their Norwich food story. For the city, it is a new independent spot to explore, bringing a little taste of Greece to Bridewell Alley and giving locals another reason to wander through the Lanes.
