One of Norfolk’s biggest and most loved events is preparing to return this summer as the Royal Norfolk Show heads back to the Norfolk Showground on 24th and 25th June 2026 for another huge celebration of agriculture, food, business and community spirit.
Known as the UK’s largest two day agricultural event, the Royal Norfolk Show attracts more than 80,000 visitors each year and has become one of the county’s standout dates in the calendar. From livestock competitions and countryside showcases to food experiences, live entertainment and family attractions, the event continues to blend Norfolk tradition with modern innovation in a way few events manage to achieve.
This year’s theme, Celebrating Culture and Collaboration, is set to bring a fresh atmosphere to the showground, with organisers promising a vibrant celebration inspired by multicultural influences, creativity and community connection across the region.
At the centre of the show once again is the Grand Ring, which always draws huge crowds throughout the two day event. The 2026 programme features an exciting line up including the return of the Knights of Medieval England with their dramatic live jousting displays, alongside performances from the RAF Falcons parachute team. Heavy horses, entertainment acts and a large scale Carnival of Cultures procession are also expected to bring energy and colour to the arena across both days.
While agriculture remains firmly at the heart of the Royal Norfolk Show, the event has evolved into something much broader over the years, reflecting the changing industries, communities and creativity that continue to shape Norfolk itself.
Food and drink continues to play a major role in the overall experience, with the Adnams Food and Drink Experience returning with more than 100 artisan producers showcasing local and regional flavours. Visitors can expect everything from street food and fresh local produce to independent drinks brands, sweet treats and handcrafted products from across East Anglia and beyond.
New for 2026 is Beach Eats, a coastal inspired retreat area designed to bring a more relaxed atmosphere to the showground. The new addition is expected to celebrate Norfolk’s coastline through food, seating areas and a laid back social environment, giving visitors another space to unwind during the busy event.
Alongside the entertainment and food offering, the show continues to highlight the county’s agricultural roots through national livestock competitions and countryside showcases that remain a huge part of the event’s identity. Thousands of animals will be featured across the two days, including cattle, sheep, horses and pigs, alongside demonstrations and competitions that celebrate the skill and dedication of Norfolk’s farming community.
Education and innovation also continue to become increasingly important parts of the Royal Norfolk Show experience. The Discovery Zone will return in 2026 with a focus on Norfolk’s historic crops, including mint and mustard, helping visitors learn more about the region’s agricultural heritage and how it continues to influence the county today.
Meanwhile, the STEMM Village will once again explore science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine through interactive exhibits and displays. This year’s Hidden Worlds theme promises to uncover everything from microbes and sustainability to energy innovation and future technology, helping younger visitors engage with subjects shaping the future of both Norfolk and wider industries.
Business also remains a key focus throughout the event. The Norfolk Chambers Business Zone, sponsored by UEA for Business, will bring together more than 40 exhibitors from across the region, offering networking opportunities and showcasing the strength of Norfolk’s growing business and innovation sectors.
Part of what makes the Royal Norfolk Show feel so unique is the sheer variety of experiences taking place across the showground at any one time. Visitors can move from watching livestock judging and agricultural demonstrations to discovering local food producers, exploring science exhibits, listening to live music or enjoying family entertainment all within the same day.
The event has also become an important celebration of Norfolk itself. While agriculture remains central to the show’s history, the wider experience now reflects the county’s creativity, culture, hospitality and business landscape in a much broader sense.
For many families, attending the Royal Norfolk Show has become a yearly tradition and one of the highlights of the summer calendar. The atmosphere across the showground always feels lively and welcoming, with visitors of all ages coming together to experience one of the region’s largest events.
As the 2026 show approaches, excitement is already building around what promises to be another major celebration of Norfolk life. With thrilling arena displays, local food, family attractions, live entertainment and a strong focus on culture and collaboration, this year’s Royal Norfolk Show looks set to once again bring the county together for two unforgettable summer days.
